Leeds University Union History Society

We are proud to offer a wide range of events that take place throughout the year, from pub quizzes to our spectacular Christmas Ball; there is definitely something for everyone. We hold our regular socials at some of Leeds’ most popular clubs, providing discounted drinks and entry prices thanks to our deals with companies such as Fresh2Death, Running Wild and No Curfew.

Members also have the chance to join us on a trip abroad. After visits to Berlin and Prague, in Easter 2019 we jetted off to Krakow where we embraced the best of the city’s culture, as well as the cocktails and clubs! The trip for Easter 2022 was announced in October, and HistSoc is off to Athens. We are so excited to be able to offer the full trip / event experience after a challenging couple of years.

Due to government guidelines, our 2020/1 socials have all been online, but this did not stop the fun. Last year, we stepped up to the challenged and hosted some great socials including pub quizzes, pumpkin carving and socials in collaboration with other societies. But for the academic year 2021-22, events are back and we were delighted to kick-off the year with a HistSoc Otley Run and a £1000 bar tab. Look out for events coming up soon, including a film viewing as part of Black History Month.

Our Annual General Meeting date and time for 2022 is still to be announced (but will be in March.) Any HistSoc member can attend! Come along if you are interested in joining the committee or just want to hear more about HistSoc!
